I have a family member who recently passed away who was an avid model builder (from kits). His collection includes models of varying sizes & genres- from replica military equipment (planes, tanks, boats/carriers) to models from Star Wars, & all the different Star Trek series.
Is there a market out there to sell these models? If so, who should we contact to appraise/sell them?
Sorry to hear of your loss. Depending on how WELL they were completed, there is certainly value.
AS to selling them… I would check with a local hobby-shop. I’m not aware of any specific appraisers (even in my area). When I was younger, I used to display some of my completed models at the local hobby-shop with a business-card.
I’ve sold completed helicopters where the KIT cost $15 and I got $150 for my work. Then again, I had years with the actual helicopter and the models were "perfect".
At a Local Hobby-shop you can usually find a bulletin board that will have adverts for others selling… it will give you a base to start pricing. You could then post photos of the kits you have and try to sell.
GOOD LUCK

Charger says tha battery is fully charged, but no accessories work. This battery is on a boat. Boat will not start because it has no power coming from the battery. What would be the cause? Also, when I hook it up to the charger, at least the blower should work or something…I get nothing. Where could a loose connection be or is there another problem somewhere?
Check for a loose wire, may be the ground or the hot wire. It may be a bad fuseable link. Some boats have a master switch which trips a silinoid, it could be bad (if your boat has one).
Quick test is to take a DVM and measure the positive terminal to a ground point in the boat. You will just have to track the cable out and see where the fault is at.
I need to find a boating club near Chislehurst in Kent, or Erith in Kent so that I can start learning about boating and get a proper taining, befor I buy my first boat please? Any advice would be appeciated, thank you
What sort of boating are you interested in? If it’s sailing then this link should be useful. http://www.uksail.com/clubs13.htm
I need to add amber running lights to the side of my boat trailer, which has four pole flat wiring. The amber lights only have a hot wire and "automatic" ground, connected to the mount. Do I just tap into the brown running light wire with the one live amber light wire? This doesn’t seem like a complete circuit to me, but there’s only one wire connected to the bulb, so I don’t see any other way to do it. Thanks!
that’s exactly right, just make sure the screw that provides ground goes into bare metal on the trailer
