Hello, i am looking at adding brakes on my boat trailer. Reason being, its not legal for my car, my cars towing capacity is 1000kg with brakes, and 550kg for a trailer with out brakes. the boat weighs 700kg.So the question is, in NSW australia am i allowed to buy a trailer brake kit online, install it my self and be legal? or is there a place that does this ? is it even possible to put brakes on a trailer that Originaly did not have any ?
I bought a boat trailer and boat. I have a separate bill of sale for each. I didn’t realize there was a separate title for the trailer. Now I don’t know how to get the trailer registered in my name. All I have is the old registration and a bill of sale. Any suggestions?

A Pa. website directed me to the police. I bought a titled 1972 boat with an untitled trailer. There is no title for the trailer and I can’t find a VIN# anywhere. It has the original manufacturer markings on the trailer that correspond to the boat. The state trooper told me he went through the same thing, but got a form at a State Representative Office to have a VIN issued for his trailer. Does anyone know what form that is?
